THEME AND VARIATION WITH A TWIST is a study on the impact of choreography in new media manipulation. In this project, the work of the choreograher as a time controller and master is maximized to the maximum with the choice not to use real time video capturing and manipulation tools. Instead, there is conscious usage of prerecorede material - during rehearsals to study the different variations of the dancers' movements: similar, but uniquely timed. The final projection gives the illusion of real time manipulation, but instead becomes a true dialog betwen the virtual prerecorded elements and the live action on stage.
